The Digital Security Act 2018, adopted in October 2018 by the Bangladesh Government, has become a threat to the freedom of opinion, expression, and press, and a tool for muzzling dissenting voices. This website documents the cases filed under the DSA 2018 since 8 Oct 2018 and provides perspectives of various stakeholders about the DSA, the nature and scope of the use of the law, and its implications for freedom of expression and democracy.
The Principal Investigator of the project is Dr. Ali Riaz, Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Illinois State University, USA.
